Generative AI Agents - The New Serverless Platform?
Generative AI Agents are poised to become the interface to your favorite workflow. What about replacing your favorite app?
Listening to the ServiceNow’s of the world, AI agents are poised to become the center of workflow innovation. However, this conversation has me asking the question, how deep is this rabbit hole?
It’s clear that the goal of AI Agents is to automate micro-workflows. You can take those micro-workflows to build automated end-to-end business processes. That motion sounds very much like applications built on serverless microservices.
As an industry, if we fulfill AI agents' promise to reliably build automated workflows, why couldn’t any business process analyst create customized replacements for SAP or Oracle Business Suite?
Scale breaks all things. While I doubt this could be a solution for a large international organization, I’m unsure if the same barriers exist for midsized organizations.
Your thoughts? Are AI Agents the future of business workflows,
or will they sputter out and exist as add-ons to incumbent software services?
Wasn't the vision of RPA? Robotic Process Automation?
Don't hear about that as much these days.
