The End of The CTO Advisor?
There's always a start and when you consider the start, you must also consider the end.
On my run today, I listened to the latest episode of Akimbo, Seth Godin’s. He was advising someone who had become a linchpin in their organization. The caller decided it was time to leave and struggled to escape without damaging what he had built. Seth made the point I try to push for enterprise IT professionals. You may not need to consider how to do two things at once. IE deploying a single application across multiple clouds. It would be best if you had a strategy for how you may leave one cloud for another.
It got me thinking about The CTO Advisor (me) vs. The CTO Advisor LLC. I’ve been working on expanding the voices that comprise The CTO Advisor LLC. I want the company to survive the personality. At some point, Google, Microsoft, AWS, or even VMware will make me an offer I can’t refuse. If not one of those companies, life may get in the way of keeping pace with what you, our content consumer, want to hear and read.
With every beginning is an ending, and while the CTO Advisor LLC will end one day, I’d like it to outlast my employment with the firm.
