Who is the CTO in The CTO Advisor?
I don't know if I've ever published who our intended audience and from what lens you should consume our content.
I asked the question on Twitter, who is the CTO in CTO Advisor? Have you ever read examples of people looking at the same thing and seeing different meanings? I don’t believe I’ve ever asked you or answered, who or what do you think when you see The CTO Advisor?
My background is in Big-Pharma, Manufacturing, Government, and Financial Services. I spent a few years supporting an independent software vendor (ISV) environment on the infrastructure side. However, most of my experience is in the industries mentioned above. About 75% of my experience is supporting the Fortune 500 within these industries.
So, when I think of problems and solutions, I think about my career bias. I’ll see a trend such as Kubernetes (K8s) and ask, how does an Enterprise Architect or CTO at Johnson and Johnson deploy and integrate K8s alongside OpenStack, VMware vSphere, AWS, private data center, and the manufacturing floor while serving internal developers. What’s the lifecycle of that platform in our environment when the applications are no longer areas of revenue growth?
The lens is very different from that of a cloud service provider or a company that primarily earns revenue from writing and selling software.
Again, I’ll ask the question, “What do you think of when you think ‘CTO’ in ‘The CTO Advisor?'“
